For Mobile Dog Groomers

An answering service for mobile dog groomers that books the appointment while you are mid-groom.

Sam asks the breed, the coat, the temperament, and where you are going. Checks your radius. Books the slot and texts you the details while your hands are full of a wet retriever.

Why the phone keeps getting missed

A mobile groomer works inside a van with the clippers running and a dog that does not want to be there. You physically cannot take a booking call mid-groom — and the call that comes in is a new client who wants to know if you do their breed, when you can come, and what it costs. Miss it and they book the next mobile groomer, because grooming is a recurring six-to-eight-week relationship and whoever locks in the first appointment usually keeps the client for years.

The booking detail matters more than people think: breed and coat type drive the time and the price, temperament drives whether you need extra time or a muzzle, and the address drives your route. A human answering service collects none of that — they take a name and a number, and you spend your evening calling back to ask the questions Sam would have asked live. On top of it, a large share of pet-owning households are Spanish-speaking, and almost no grooming answering service handles that call.

How Sam handles your mobile groomer calls

  1. 1

    Pick up every call

Sam picks up while you are grooming, asks the breed (or rough size and coat), the temperament, and whether it is a one-time groom or a recurring schedule.

  2. 2

    Qualify and book

Sam checks the address against your route radius, quotes from your breed-and-coat price list, and books the slot — recurring clients can be set on a standing cadence.

  3. 3

    Get the SMS

You get an SMS with the breed, the service, the address, and the booked time. Spanish-speaking callers are flagged so you can plan the visit.

What Sam asks every mobile groomer caller

The qualifying script is built around your trade. Sam asks what matters for an accurate booking and a clean dispatch — not generic intake questions.

  • What breed is the dog, or rough size and coat type?
  • How is the coat right now — matted, shedding heavily, recently groomed?
  • Full groom, bath and tidy, or a specific cut?
  • How does the dog do with grooming — calm, anxious, nippy, senior?
  • Any health issues, allergies, or sensitivities to know about?
  • One-time appointment or a recurring schedule?
  • How many dogs at the address?
  • Service address and where the van can park?
  • Best contact number?
  • Have you used a mobile groomer for this dog before?
Bilingual · EN / ES

Pet ownership cuts across every demographic, and in Sunbelt and California metros a meaningful share of mobile-grooming inquiries come from Spanish-speaking households. A bilingual line means you book the recurring client instead of losing them to a callback that comes too late. Sam handles breed, coat, temperament, and scheduling in Spanish, then texts you the details in English.

Common questions

Does Sam price by breed and coat?

Yes. You set a price list keyed to breed or size and coat type (for example, a doodle full groom versus a short-haired terrier bath), and Sam quotes from it. For dogs that need a look first — heavy matting, special handling — Sam books the appointment and notes that the final price depends on condition.

Can Sam set up recurring grooming schedules?

Sam books the appointment into your calendar and can capture that a client wants a standing cadence (every 6 weeks, monthly, etc.), then note it so you can set the recurring series. Standing-appointment automation tied to your route is on the roadmap; in MVP Sam captures the request and books the first slot.

What if a caller asks about a dog that is aggressive or has a health issue?

Sam asks the temperament and health questions during intake and puts the answers in the SMS, so you know before you arrive whether you need extra time, a muzzle, or to decline. You can set a rule to route those calls to you instead of auto-booking.

I am a solo mobile groomer — is this overkill?

It is built for the solo van. Starter at $49/mo covers most one-groomer operations. Because grooming clients are recurring, every first appointment you book instead of miss is worth far more than one groom — it is the start of a multi-year client.
